The Crooked River Watershed encompasses 2.9 million acres of private, state and federal lands in Central Oregon. Russian knapweed, whitetop, Scotch thistle, and the other noxious weeds do not respect property boundaries. The CRWMA works cooperatively with all landowners and managers to treat weeds strategically on a population basis.
"The Crooked River Weed Management Area creates public and private partnerships to manage noxious weed populations in the watershed through education, prevention, inventory, control and restoration."
The Crooked River Weed Management Area was formed as a working group in 2000 and organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in April 2002. The Weed Management Area (WMA) works within the Crooked River Watershed to educate and assist landowners with noxious weed identification and control.
